alien, foreign

alien 表示“外国的,异乡的”时与foreign相似,但比foreign正式,没有后者使用普遍。

alien, foreigner, immigrant

foreigner 强调语言和生活习惯与本国人不同,含有某种性质上不认同的意味; 而alien指具有外国国籍的侨民; immigrant 则指取得了本国公民身份的外国人,即“移民”。

stranger，foreigner，alien，immigrant

这些名词均有“陌生人，外人”之意。

stranger指对当地的生活习惯、语言等不熟悉，或为某团体不熟的人，也指不认识的人。

foreigner指在异国作短期访问或长期居住的外国人。
